Welcome To Powerline Wives

Behind every light switch is a man risking his life to keep the lights on .... and a family waiting for him to come home!

FORUM BLOGS GROUPS PHOTOS

This website is about the life of a powerlineman's wife. The nights and weeks spent alone, the fear, the hope, the pride and so much more. I hope that you will take away from this site all that you can, but most importantly, i hope you are proud to be a member of this group - a group of the elite... a group of women bonded by the common challenges of being married to the most needed men in America. Men with skills beyond measure, men with balls of steel, men that work 24 hours to get the lights on only to get 3 hours of sleep and do it again. MEN.

Why are we elite? Unlike many of the other "heros" out there, our men aren't replaceable. There isn't another man standing behind them that can do their job. You can't gain their skills or knowledge in 6 months and no amature or passer by has ever stepped in to do their job until they get there. Our men take something that most everyone fears and the whole world needs in order to operate and harness is like it's nothing. They are men among men.

I hope you are proud of your husband or boyfriend. Your powerlineman. I know first hand the first few years of marriage to a lineman is very hard to grasp. The fear of their job, the things that run through your head when they are out of town on storm work, the sleepless nights spent waiting on them to come home. The burial of friends and co-workers. It is hard to handle - mentally and physically. As you grow in your marriage you soon begin to accept the hours, the weeks away from home, the challenges, the fear, the pride. Trust that I have been there and understand.

Welcome to our group!

My husband doesn't carry a hose, a gun or a scalpel, but you'll never see anyone with a gun, a hose or scalpel able to fill his shoes. He makes sure we all have something that we can't live without. A bystander can't step in and do his job. It takes guts, skill and balls of steal. He's a powerlineman, and he rocks.
